First I had to rewrite the exposé – and my professor accepted it. After that I had to do some market research for ticket 2. and come up with a plan for the thesis.

Checklist Ticket 2

Again, here’s the official checklist.

To Do after Ticket 1

  • You have settled on a suitable topic and outlined it in a text of max. 1 A4 page. Your text should describe the problem of the chosen topic (its social relevance), your motivation (why you are personally interested in the topic), and how your chosen design medium can contribute to an improvement (a special and new experience, a statement on the topic, special functions and features). [Yes, I think so.]
  • You have done preliminary research on your chosen topic and gained an overview of its scope and complexity. You can present and describe the different facets of the topic. The research gives you the basis to narrow down the subject area more precisely to something that can be implemented within a bachelor’s thesis. [Maybe?] [Vielleicht.]
  • You have developed and formulated a methodological process suitable for your field of design and can justify the selection and use of the chosen methods based on the content. You have prepared and reflected on the planned procedure visually and, if necessary, in writing. [Not really.]
  • You have documented your results from the pre-course visually and in writing. [No, not yet.]

CONCEPT

Concept, Research (Duration 4 weeks, 2 Tickets)

To Do before Ticket 2

  • You have conducted and prepared comprehensive research for your chosen topic area. The research includes theoretical background knowledge on the one hand and a presentation of the state-of-the-art (relevant practical works as reference) on the other. [That’s what I tried with this submission.]
  • You have analyzed and reflected on the results of your research. You can classify the collected practical works according to their viewpoint / functional scope and differentiate your own work from them. [Probably.]

Ticket 2 (03.11.2023)

I just add the original pages (in German) at the bottom and don’t write and translate it all again. No one reads this anyway.

Below you find the pages of the submission for the ticket. First, there’s Exposé 2.0, then the market research for tarot decks, then a conclusion and then my spectacularly failed plan.

It’s really interesting how many tarot decks you can find – and my plan is at least funny in retrospect.

Check out the tarot decks! Did I find your favourite tarot?
